Playing with Light
Not only did we learn the basics of studio flash lighting, and how to operate equipment, we also practiced how to change light to replicate the original image of Steve Jobs. We used three studio flash lights and a reflection board create an evenly lit background, and a heavy shadow on the right side of the face.
We learnt how to use various types of equipment, such as soft boxes and umbrellas to create different types of lighting. Some made the light appear more softer (soft box), where was just a spot light creates a brighter harsher light (typically used for magazine photo shoots).
