Set Build Project: 1st Group Meeting

After having a group session with Rosie and Anne we came to the decision to make a campaign about consumerism. How we just buy new technology even though we have a perfectly ok working device.

The main idea developed by my group members was this:

A person in a blank living room seems to be immersed in watching the TV. This living rooms seems
to lack personal belongings, other than a sofa, a table full of dirty dishes, and a TV. The TV is
advertising the latest version of a new smartphone. The person, zoned out, almost robotically picks
up his laptop and orders the new phone. He then proceeds to pick up his current phone seemingly
in perfect working order and condition, and posts about his new purchase on Facebook, receiving
positive responses from his so called friends, and then continues to throw the phone it in to a big
pile of other phones.

Alternate Endings:
1) At the end we have a close up of the person, he seems emotionless at first but then he slowly
starts smiling manicly
2) The doorbell rings, someone shouts “delivery”, the person smiles

With this idea we have to think about how the set will be designed so that the other group will be able to use it for their campaign.

To make sure we are al communicating and contributing we have a Facebook group set up.
